Questions And Challenges Of 2017: Prevailing Wage, Legalized Marijuana, and More

Carrie Bushman will present  for an overview of some of the complex challenges facing the construction industry at the 160th state meeting of the Mason Contractors Association of California. Topics will include:

  • AB 219 (and SB 836) Ready Mix Hauling Prevailing Wage, including the status of court challenges to these requirements.
  • Skilled and Trained Workforce Requirements, which mandate the use of apprenticeship program graduates on certain jobs.
  • NEW law (SB 96) public works contractor registration penalties and small project exemptions, effective as of January 1, 2017.
  • Legalized marijuana and the workplace.
