Avoiding Litigation in the Hiring Process: ABC Webinar

  • Date: November 9, 2017 10:00 am – 11:30 am

Laws governing hiring processes in California have long been a challenge for employers. Newly enacted legislation, AB 168, now prohibits California employers from asking about a job applicant’s salary history and from using salary history information as a factor in determining what salary to offer an applicant. Join Cook Brown Partner Carrie Bushman for this Associated Builders and Contractors webinar for a discussion of AB 168 and other laws that regulate the hiring process. Carrie will review:

  • Best practices during the application and interview process, including:
    • Background checks
    • Drug testing
    • Pre-employment medical inquiries and examinations
  • Setting compensation in compliance with fair pay laws

Registration is open to members and nonmembers at the ABC website.
