Annual Labor and Employment Legal Update: A Look at 2018

  • Date: November 16, 2017 8:30 am – 10:00 am

California lawmakers introduced over 2,000 bills this past January and this week Governor Jerry Brown signed more than 800 of them into law. Many will significantly impact employers, including:

  • Measures further limiting information employers can seek from applicants such as salary and criminal history;
  • New laws that dramatically expand protected CFRA parental leaves of absence to employers with as few as 20 employees; and,
  • New requirements for mandatory sexual harassment prevention training.

Register now for our Annual Legislative Update, when Cook Brown Partner Lisa Ryan will discuss which measures were signed into law and how these new laws will impact California employers in 2018.
