Mechanic’s Liens and Other Payment Remedies

  • Date: November 30, 2016 8:30 am – 11:30 am
  • Venue: Shasta Builders Exchange

If you are a contractor, subcontractor or supplier performing work in California and you have not been paid for your work, you may have a right to seek payment based upon:

  • Contractual rights
  • Equitable rights
  • Mechanic’s lien
  • Stop payment notice
  • Payment bond

These rights are cumulative, and can be pursued concurrently. Each remedy is distinct, and one may work when another does not. There are rules that affect your right to use each remedy. Join Cook Brown Partner Brian Bertossa at the Shasta Builders Exchange to learn how to apply the maximum leverage you are entitled to under California law to be paid for your work.

To register, visit the Shasta County Builder Exchange website.

Brian D. Bertossa
